Prof. Martin ParryProfessor and Co-Chair of Working Group II (Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London, UK
Martin Parry is Co-Chair of Working Group II (Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Formerly he was Professor of Geography at the Universities of Oxford, University College London, Birmingham and University of East Anglia where he directed the Jackson Environment Initiative (JEI). He is currently a visiting professor at Imperial College, University of London. He was chairman of the UK Climate Change Impacts Review Group, and a coordinating lead author in the IPCC first, second and third assessments. His other current positions include chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's Task Group on Scenarios for Climate Impact Assessment and member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the United Nations Environment Programme's Climate Impacts and Responses Programme. He has won a number of awards, including the Order of the British Empire in 1998 for services to the environment and the World Meteorological Organisation's Gerbier-Mumm International Award in 1993 for contributions to research on climate change. |
